Title: Appeal to Protect Civilian Facilities and Infrastructure in Iran

In the name of humanity,

Rt Hon Prime Minister of New Zealand and Hon Members of the Cabinet,

We, the undersigned, express deep concern about the current humanitarian situation and urge the Government of New Zealand to take a clear and principled stand to protect civilian facilities and infrastructure in Iran.

Essential infrastructure including hospitals, water and electricity systems, oil and gas facilities, schools, roads, and public services must never be targeted. These are lifelines that millions depend on for survival, not political or military tools.

Any attack on these systems would violate international humanitarian law and cause severe harm to civilians. Families would lose access to healthcare, clean water, and basic necessities, leaving communities vulnerable and devastated.

Even when such infrastructure is partially used by state or military actors, as is common in many countries, their primary purpose is to sustain civilian life. Targeting it undermines the foundations of everyday life.

We also respectfully urge the Prime Minister of New Zealand to convey, through appropriate diplomatic channels, to President Donald Trump that such actions will be seen by the people of Iran as a direct attack on their lives and future, contradicting any claim of supporting them.

New Zealand has long stood for peace, fairness, and human dignity. This is a moment to uphold those values.

Do not remain silent.
Stand with civilians.
Stand for humanity.
