Thank Governor Phil Murphy for Signing the New Jersey Shark Fin Ban into Law

The Issue

Dear Governor Murphy,

We want to thank you for your leadership in ocean health and for healthy fisheries by signing into law the Shark Fin Sales Ban in New Jersey.

The state Senate passed the bill (S2905) by a vote of 33-6 in January, and the state Assembly followed suit on Monday November 25, 54-19  with one abstention. 

Once signed, New Jersey will become 13th US State to ban the possession, sale and trade of shark fin, and give global shark populations a chance to survive from finning and overfishing.
