Urge Minnesota United FC to end partnership with Target

Urge Minnesota United FC to end partnership with Target
The Issue
Minnesota United FC claims that “Soccer is for Everyone.” But as fans, we cannot ignore when our club’s primary partner acts in direct opposition to those values.
On January 8, 2026, Target’s property in Richfield was used as a staging ground for violent ICE abductions of employees, including a 17-year-old minor. This follows Target’s systemic retreat from DEI initiatives and its withdrawal of support for the LGBTQ+ community in the face of extremist pressure.
A logo on a jersey is not just an advertisement; it is a statement of alliance. By maintaining Target as our primary sponsor, MNUFC is telling its diverse fanbase that corporate convenience matters more than community safety.
We call on CEO Shari Ballard and MNUFC Leadership to:
1. Publicly condemn the use of partner facilities for ICE operations and reaffirm that the club stands against the targeted displacement of our community members.
2. Commit to a timeline to phase out Target as the primary kit sponsor.
3. Vet future partners to ensure they align with the club’s "Soccer is for Everyone" mission.
4. Establish and publish a "Safe Stadium" policy that explicitly outlines the club's protocols regarding immigration enforcement at Allianz Field and training facilities, ensuring that all fans and employees are protected from harassment or abduction while on club property.
It is time to put our community over their capital. Sign to show the front office that the fans are watching.
