Urge Microsoft to Revive the Windows Phone
The Issue
We, the undersigned, are loyal fans of Windows Phone/Windows 10 Mobile, the mobile operating system that Microsoft discontinued in 2017. We believe that Windows Phone was a superior platform that offered a unique and innovative user experience, a high-quality flagship phones, and a seamless integration with Windows PC and other Microsoft services.
We are deeply disappointed by Microsoft’s decision to abandon Windows Phone and its loyal customers. We feel that Microsoft missed an opportunity to reinvent the category of computing between PCs, tablets, and phones, as its CEO Satya Nadella admitted in an interview with Business Insider. We also feel that Microsoft’s current mobile offerings, such as the Surface Duo, are not adequate replacements for Windows Phone, as they lack the features, innovation, and support that made Windows Phone special.
We urge Microsoft to reconsider its decision and bring back Windows Phone as a viable alternative to iOS and Android. We believe that there is still a demand for Windows Phone, as evidenced by the growing dissatisfaction with the current smartphone platforms, and the nostalgia for Windows Phone among its former users. We believe that Windows Phone can still compete in the mobile market, if Microsoft invests in its development, marketing, app, and ecosystem.
We also believe that Microsoft can make it under its failure, meaning that it can learn from its mistakes and improve its product. We know that Microsoft has faced many challenges and failures in the past, but it has also overcome them and created better products, such as Windows 10, Xbox, and Azure. We think that Windows Phone can be one of those products, if Microsoft gives it another try and listens to its customers’ feedback. We think that Microsoft has the potential to create a successful and popular mobile platform, if it puts its heart and soul into it.
We ask Microsoft to listen to its customers and fans, and to revive Windows Phone as a third option for smartphone users. We believe that Windows Phone deserves a second chance, and that Microsoft has the resources, talent, and vision to make it happen.
