The Issue

My name is not the focal point here; instead, let's focus on my story that may be shared by countless customers of McDonald’s. I have a simple ritual. A couple of times a month, I look forward to grabbing breakfast rolls from our local McDonald's - it's my way of starting the day off on a leisurely note. My order is specific: I always remove bacon, remove egg, and add an extra sausage and extra cheese - a fair tally of two items removed, and two items added. However, instead of substitutions, I am charged extra for each added item while receiving no discount for the omitted items. My customised breakfast roll becomes a financial sore point, transforming a much-anticipated trip to the drive-thru into an economic headache.

McDonald's, a multinational fast-food giant, reported $19.21 billion in global revenue in 2020 (source: Statista), and yet continues to charge customers for every tiny customization, pushing many to rethink their ordering choices. This policy not only impacts individual customers’ pockets but also discourages people from customizing their meals to their liking – a right every consumer should freely enjoy.

We request that McDonald’s change their pricing policy to encourage rather than penalize customization. Give credit for omitted items, and allow equal substitutions without an additional charge. We believe in every customer having the freedom to customize their meals without having to worry about surcharges.

Join us in pressuring McDonald's to modify their pricing approach. Every signature matters, every voice is crucial. Sign the petition today and make your next personalized meal fairer, economical, and enjoyable!
