Urge Marvel to create a Wiccan and Speed TV show or movie
The Issue
I've been a lifelong fan of the Marvel universe, and like many others, I have found inspiration, hope, and excitement through the stories of these extraordinary characters. Among them, the young Avengers stand out, particularly Billy and Tommy Maximoff, also known as Wiccan and Speed. Their journeys transcend their superpowers, touching on themes of identity, family, and resilience.
As a twin and large supporter of Marvel, I am urging Marvel Studios to create a dedicated TV show or movie featuring Wiccan and Speed. With Ruaridh Mollica as Tommy Maximoff and Joe Locke as Billy Maximoff they already bring immense talent but also fresh faces to these beloved characters.
The importance of representation in media cannot be understated. A Wiccan and Speed show or movie would give voice to LGBTQ+ characters and offer inspiration to a wide range of viewers who can see themselves reflected in Billy and Tommy's stories. As these characters grapple with the challenges of their abilities, they also navigate personal and familial issues that are deeply relatable.
With the rise of superhero media, Marvel has a unique opportunity to diversify its roster of mainstream heroes. Now is the time to tap into the rich narratives available in the Young Avengers storyline, which has the potential not only to entertain but also to educate and empower.
Marvel has the resources and the creative expertise to make this a reality; what’s needed is the commitment to expand their storytelling horizons. By bringing the characters of Wiccan and Speed to the forefront, Marvel can reiterate its commitment to inclusivity and innovation in the entertainment industry.
Let's make this a reality by urging Marvel Studios to explore these possibilities. Such a move will resonate with fans both old and new, and provide yet another facet of inspiration to the expansive Marvel Universe. Please sign this petition to show your support for a Wiccan and Speed TV show or movie, starring Ruaridh Mollica and Joe Locke, and to encourage Marvel Studios to embrace this exciting opportunity for growth and diversity in its storytelling.
