The Issue

Every year, countless employees at major cinema chains such as Regal Cinemas and AMC are required to work on Christmas Day, a time traditionally reserved for family gatherings and celebrations. This practice not only disrupts the holiday spirit but also places undue stress on these hardworking individuals who should be allowed a respite during this special occasion. According to the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics, over 25% of employed people in the U.S. worked at least some holidays in 2017 (source: U.S. BLS). This figure is likely higher among cinema employees due to the industry's nature.

We believe that everyone deserves to spend Christmas with their loved ones without worrying about work obligations. Therefore, we call upon Regal Cinemas, AMC, and other movie theaters nationwide to respect their employees' right to enjoy this cherished holiday by closing their doors on Christmas Day. Even Ebenezer Scrooge allowed Bob Cratchet to have Christmas Day off.

Let's stand together for workers' rights and family values by demanding change from these major corporations. Please sign this petition today!
