The Issue

Protect the Heart of Caregiving in Lincoln County — Urge Lincoln Co. Commissioner’s to Continue Funding A.C.E. of SW Minnesota!

The Issue

Behind every aging parent, disabled neighbor, or chronically ill spouse is a caregiver — often unseen, unpaid, and overwhelmed. In Lincoln County and across 7 other southwest Minnesota Counties, these caregivers are supported, empowered, and uplifted by A.C.E. (Advocate, Connect, Educate) of SW Minnesota.

A.C.E. is more than a program — it’s a lifeline. Through vital caregiver services, educational resources, and community-based support, A.C.E. strengthens families, helps individuals age with dignity, and creates a network of care that extends throughout our rural communities. But this critical work is at risk. Without continued (increased) funding at the County level, A.C.E. may be forced to shut down, putting local families in crisis and leaving caregivers without the support they desperately need.

Why It Matters

Caregiving is not a rare experience — it’s a shared one. Nationally, over 65 million Americans provide care to someone who is ill, elderly, or disabled. In rural areas like ours, the challenges are magnified by distance, isolation, and limited resources.

A.C.E. addresses these challenges head-on — providing education, respite, connection, and hope to those who give so much of themselves every day. Its programs ensure that caregivers are not alone, that they are equipped, and that they are valued.

The ripple effects of A.C.E.'s work benefit every corner of our community — from improved mental and physical health outcomes to reduced strain on local healthcare systems. When caregivers thrive, our whole community thrives.

Your Voice Matters

We urge the Lincoln County Board of Commissioners to recognize the irreplaceable role A.C.E. plays in sustaining the health and resilience of our community. Continued funding is not just a budget decision — it’s a commitment to compassion, connection, and community strength.

Join us in standing up for our caregivers, and ensuring that A.C.E. of SW Minnesota continues to serve, support, and strengthen Lincoln County for generations to come.

Together, we can keep care at the center of our community.
