Urge LCBO to Reinstate Kahlua in Ontario

The Issue

Growing up in Mexico, I have had the privilege to experience the warmth, kindness, and hard-working nature of the Mexican people. Kahlua, a product of Mexico, not only represents a taste of my heritage but also symbolizes the cultural bond between Mexico and Canada. It is more than just a beverage—it’s a connection to my roots and to a nation that holds a special place in my heart.

Recently, it has come to my attention that the LCBO has decided to discontinue the sale of Kahlua in its stores across Ontario. This decision appears to be influenced by US sanctions. As a proud resident of Ontario and someone with deep ties to Mexico, I find this to be an unfortunate and misguided action.

Mexico and Canada share a history of friendship and mutual support. At a time when international relations are strained due to trade wars, it is crucial for Canada to stand by its allies and trading partners. By removing Mexican products like Kahlua, we are inadvertently harming our relationship with Mexico and turning our backs on the values of support and friendship that define us as Canadians.

Mexican products should not swept up in a US boycott. Instead, Canada should affirm its independence and commitment to bilateral trade and cultural exchange with Mexico. We ask the LCBO to reconsider their stance and bring Kahlua back to their shelves in Ontario. Our actions today set a precedent for how we treat our trading partners and friends.

Please join me in urging the LCBO to reverse this decision. Let us rebuild and strengthen our connections with Mexico by supporting their products like Kahlua. Sign this petition to make your voice heard and take a stand for fair trade and friendship.
