Urge Juvenile Court to Reconsider Custody Decision and Keep My Son Close to Home

Urge Juvenile Court to Reconsider Custody Decision and Keep My Son Close to Home
The Issue
I am a mother, fighting for the right to raise my own son. Eight years ago, when he was just three years old, my bright and energetic boy was taken from me. Despite maintaining my rights and permission for unsupervised visitation, the guardian has not abided by the court order. This has created a significant gap in our relationship - a gap that I am determined to bridge.
Now, there is an imminent risk of him being relocated over 50 miles away from me to Houston Texas. This would further strain our relationship and make it even more challenging for us to reconnect.
Research shows that children who maintain close relationships with both parents after divorce or separation have better adjustment in various domains including emotional, behavioral, social and academic (Source: American Psychological Association). It's clear that keeping my son close is not only beneficial for our personal bond but also crucial for his overall well-being.
I implore the judges and magistrates of juvenile court in Knoxville TN USA - consider this plea from a mother who wants nothing more than her child's happiness and well-being. Please see it as being in the best interest of all involved parties - especially my son - to place him back under my care.
Please sign this petition urging the juvenile court system to reconsider their custody decision. Your support means everything – it could help bring an 11-year-old boy back home where he belongs.
