Urge IPD to hand over Nicole Marranca's missing person case to NYS Police

The Issue

Nicole Dawn Marranca was only 27 when she disappeared from the Ithaca area on August 18th, 2017.

Nicole's family has been fighting for over six years to find answers, but the Ithaca Police Department have been of little help. Although the family does not want to alienate the IPD in Nicole's investigation, they do feel that Nicole's disappearance has been brushed aside by the department because of her living situation and habits at that point in her life in 2017. Like so many others in Ithaca and the surrounding areas, Nicole was struggling with substance use disorder and was experiencing homelessness at the time of her disappearance.

Those parts of her life are far from being Nicole's entire story, nor should they determine the amount of attention her disappearance receives or the level of dignity with which her case is handled by law enforcement. Nicole is a mother, a daughter, a sister, a friend... She is so much more than just a missing person.

The Ithaca Police have refused to hand over Nicole's case to the NYS Police or bring in another agency over the years, despite citing a lack of resources and man hours to properly investigate her disappearance.

I ask you to please sign this petition and urge the IPD to bring in, or hand over, Nicole’s case to an entity with the necessary resources to investigate her disappearance more thoroughly. It only takes a few seconds to help Nicole's family finally get some of the answers that they have been fighting for, for too many years.
