I have been unable to play Helldivers 2 since August 2025, despite having purchased it like many other fans. My PC lacks the power to run the game locally, making cloud gaming my sole option. Unfortunately, the aggressive Gameguard anti-cheat system completely blocks cloud streaming services, effectively locking me out. It's disheartening to be barred from enjoying a game I paid for due to an anti-cheat mechanism that fails to deter cheaters yet targets players relying on less powerful hardware.

Gameguard has long been known for causing numerous errors and proving to be deeply intrusive in its operation. It not only fails to stop cheaters effectively but also makes the game unplayable on cloud gaming platforms and conflicts with widely used programs. For a session-based PvE game like Helldivers 2, such an aggressive anti-cheat solution feels unnecessary and overbearing. We need a fair system that targets actual cheating behavior without penalizing legitimate players.

Gameguard’s ineffectiveness is widely documented, causing frustration among players who simply wish to enjoy the game in their own way. A multitude of players experience problems like crashes, performance issues, and incompatibility with systems that rely on cloud gaming because of Gameguard. This ultimately affects fans who have supported the game by purchasing it but find themselves restricted by poorly implemented software designed to catch cheaters.

Therefore, we call upon the developers of Helldivers 2 to reconsider their use of the Gameguard anti-cheat system. Switching to a more transparent and user-friendly anti-cheat solution that performs effectively without hindering legitimate players' experiences would enhance the enjoyment for all fans worldwide.
