223 signatures in one week. Thank you.

When I launched this petition, I didn't know how many people would care. Now I do. Every name on this list tells Gretna administration that this isn't going away quietly, and that matters more than you might think.

A quick update: the editorial cartoon that started all of this is now available on my site at nicholaskmitchell.com. It was republished with the artist's permission. I'd encourage you to look at it and form your own opinion. You might agree with it. You might not. The point is that a student journalist had the right to publish it, and the administration took that away.

This has never been about the politics of one cartoon. It's about whether student journalists at Gretna East have the freedom to do their job. That's a principle that crosses every political line.

Here's how you can help right now: share this petition with the adults in your life. Parents, teachers, coaches, neighbors. A petition signed by students gets noticed. A petition signed by the community gets taken seriously. If you've already signed, the most valuable thing you can do is put it in front of someone who hasn't. Text it to a parent. Mention it to a teacher. Share it at dinner. These conversations are what turn 223 into something the district can't ignore.

Thank you for standing with us. We're just getting started.
