The Issue
I am deeply saddened and angered by the recent events surrounding the NEET protests, where certain politicians and students crossed the line by defaming, insulting, and abusing our cherished country, Army, and our respected Prime Minister, Narendra Modi. As a staunch believer in the greatness of our nation and the incredible work done by our leaders and armed forces, I feel it’s crucial for us, the citizens, to uphold the dignity and respect of our nation on every platform and occasion.
The actions of these individuals during the NEET protests were not just disrespectful but harmful to the image of India on a global scale. They created banners, circulated false information, and engaged in acts that can’t be seen as just expressions of dissent, but rather as attempts to malign and undermine the hard work and dedication of our leaders and the sacrifices made by our soldiers.
We are proud of our rich culture, honour, and the democratic values that our country is built upon. While dissent is a right, defamation can never be justified. The freedom to protest does not come with a license to spread misinformation that tarnishes the reputation of the nation and its prestigious leaders.
Therefore, I urge the Government of India to initiate appropriate legal action against those responsible for these reprehensible acts. Holding them accountable is vital to send a strong message that such acts will not be tolerated and to preserve the honour of our nation, Army, and Prime Minister.
Let us stand together to defend the dignity of India and ensure that respect and honour towards our elders, our army, and our leaders are upheld by everyone.
