Urge Glasgow City Council to Reconsider their Inadequate Bin Collection Policy

Urge Glasgow City Council to Reconsider their Inadequate Bin Collection Policy
The Issue
As a resident of Glasgow, I am increasingly frustrated and concerned with the city's current bin collection policy. The city streets have become home to a growing rat population due to the inefficient system of waste disposal in place. The bin collection policy has proven inadequate for the average household in our area, causing a myriad of problems for residents. The policy requires several different bins for several different purposes, making the simple task of emptying household waste a convoluted and burdensome process. Additionally, the council often refuses to collect "contaminated" bins, adding to the waste pile-up in our neighborhoods.
According to data from the National Pest Technicians Association (NPTA), rat sightings in urban areas across the UK have increased by 39% since 2016, with improper waste management being a major contributing factor. I believe our city is suffering due to the current flawed bin collection policy and it's high time for it to be revised.
Reevaluating this policy can help decrease the rat infestation in Glasgow, improve overall public health, and ease the process of disposing of household waste for citizens. I call upon city residents, environmentalists, and advocates for public health to support this petition to compel Glasgow City Council to revise its bin collection policy. Please, sign this petition and stand up for the cleanliness and safety of our beloved city.
