Again, I want to thank everybody who is taking the time to sign and share this petition.
Thought I would share a picture that shows homeless riding down a in need of repair sidewalk beside a new bike lane where I had just saw a gal walking in 3 mins earlier lol. Two things in this picture need attention before bike lanes in my opinion. the homeless and sidewalks.
The other day, I saw two gentlemen in a heated discussion, the one man was saying he was driving down Hermitage Road in the 30s zone somebody behind him thought he should be going faster, was honking at him and riding his butt. He’s extremely frustrated. People normally would just go around slower vehicle but we can no longer do that. Then he looks over to see electric bikes flying past him. He asked me why cars have a speed limit, but e-bikes don’t. I believe that is a fair question to ask. Maybe they do but who knows the rules?
The other observation I guess I want to share is what happens now when people need to turn left. A car was wanting to turn left and I was crossing the street. Because of the concrete barriers people behind the turning vehicle can no longer go around vehicles ahead of them you simply have to wait now. We actually have traffic congestion on a minimally used road.
It’ll be interesting when the first accident happens and everybody will be stuck there until a tow truck can get there and get the vehicle out-of-the-way or if there’s an ambulance and needs to come I’m not sure where people are supposed to go? I spoke with city planner and she said there’s room, but we can’t go around. There’s concrete barriers blocking everything now.
