Snowball was a kitten living on the streets of China with her mum. They were fed by a feeding station, had shelter, and people were taking care of them.

Mum loved her little Snowball very much. There are many images from the feeding station cameras where they cuddle, and where Mum is grooming her small daughter.

Life on the street was sometimes harsh, but Snowball had her mum, shelter, and food.

One day, a man came with a cat carrier and picked up Snowball. Her mum missed her dearly, but she hoped the man would give her daughter a loving and safe home.

She dreamed of Snowball cuddling with her new family in bed at night.

But Snowball was never cuddled by anyone. She was taken by a member of a cat-torturing gang. Her short life ended after days of terror and unspeakable pain.

She was burned, electrocuted, and skinned alive. Her tiny paws were broken and then cut off. Everything was recorded for views, money, and likes.

She was lonely, dying in pain for days, screaming and begging her abusers to stop. She was calling for her mum.

It was a huge relief when her small body finally gave up after days of unimaginable torture, and she closed her tiny eyes thinking of her loving mum.

What is even worse…

The people who fed Snowball and her mum later found out what happened to her—and who did it.

You would think they could report it, that the abusers would be imprisoned, and that other cats would be saved.

No. Because this is happening in China. There are no animal welfare laws to protect them. What was done to Snowball was legal. The abusers can come back and take another cat. There is no way to stop them. There is nowhere to report it.
