Urge Cannock Chase Council to Address Irresponsible Pet Ownership in Rugeley
The Issue
As a resident of Etchinghill, Rugeley, I am deeply troubled by the rising trend of irresponsible pet ownership in our neighbourhood. Just last night, an individual allowed his dog to foul on our neighbour's lawn without cleaning it up. This is not an isolated incident but part of a growing trend that has left me and my neighbours frustrated.
Our streets are becoming more unhygienic day by day due to this negligence. It's high time that Cannock Chase Council takes action for cleaning streets and encourages people to be more responsible pet owners who respect others' properties.
Cleaner streets will not only improve the aesthetic appeal of our neighbourhood but also encourage residents to be more active outdoors. Increased physical activity can help combat obesity and depression - two health issues that have been on the rise in recent years (source: NHS Health Survey for England). This could potentially alleviate some strain off the NHS allowing them to divert funds into other critical areas.
We urge the council to install dog foul bins with bag dispensers across Rugeley and conduct regular patrols ensuring these bins are emptied regularly. In a post-Covid world where hygiene is paramount, we need a cleaner environment for our health.
Join us in urging Cannock Chase Council to take immediate action against irresponsible pet ownership and make Rugeley cleaner and safer for all residents. Please sign this petition today!
