I am a proud Canadian citizen who has always loved the growth and development I see happening within our country. I believe in the power of Canadian ideas, goods, and services, and the importance of promoting these in today's digital age, which is why this matter is so personal to me. Today I am calling for the inclusion of social media platforms in Bill C-11.

Bill C-11,An Act to amend the Broadcasting Act and to make related and consequential amendments to other Acts, needs to adapt to the times and consider the power and importance of social media. Not only would this modernize our digital laws, but this could also significantly boost our economy, create a new job sector, and incentivize our talented creators to continue generating amazing content. 

This comes at a key time for Canada, as we face a 25 percent tariff from the USA. The inclusion of social media platforms could play an important role in supporting Canada’s cultural industries and ensuring Canadian content is available and accessible to counterbalance financial losses and lead to more economic fluidity. Such a modification to Bill C-11 could result in substantial advantages that could benefit millions of hardworking Canadians.

Our nation is known for its adaptability and innovative spirit. It is time for our digital privacy act to reflect the digital reality we are living in today. Together, we can create a modern, comprehensive law that benefits all Canadians. Please, sign this petition and urge our government to include social media, specifically Tik Tok's Creator Fund, in Bill C-11.
