Yesterday was a monumental day for our community. After a meeting lasting over three hours, the commissioners voted 4-0 to deny the rezoning request!

The turnout was overwhelming. The main room was at capacity, with supporters filling the upstairs overflow area. Seeing our community united in red sent a clear message. More than 20 residents stood up to testify, providing the "competent substantial evidence" needed to make this win possible.

Because of your generous donations, we were able to hire Veronica Oakler, Esq, LL.M. Within 48 hours of reaching our goal, she was in that room delivering a masterclass in land use law. We also want to send a shout out to Marcus Herman of the MIRA board for his powerful testimony.

While we celebrate, we remain vigilant. The county is now drafting the formal Findings of Fact to protect this decision against potential legal challenges. This document ensures the denial is tied to infrastructure and safety concerns, making it legally sound.
