Dolphins at Dolphinaris (located in the Barceló Maya Grand Resort in Mexico) live in conditions far from their natural habitats.  Ironically, the Dolphinaris motto is "Connecting with the Ocean" and the small concrete prison for dolphins is referred to as an "Ocean Care Station".  All of this is a lie!  The truth is that these beautiful creatures were stolen from their homes and illegally transported to Mexico. They are held against their will every single day.  This dolphinarium is one of the worst tanks in Mexico.  It is small and shallow with absolutely no shade.  These dolphins are forced to perform all day, everyday, without reprieve from the hot mexican sun, and the worst part is that they are only a short distance from their true home - the ocean, and can hear the ocean waves crashing in the background as they perform.  Dolphins have already died at this so called Ocean Care Station and Barcelo turned a blind eye.  It's time for change!

Dolphins are known for their intelligence and complex social structures, best displayed when in the wild, and not in confined spaces. Dolphinaris, at 
Barceló Maya Grand Resort confines these beautiful creatures in small pools, limiting their essential need for space to swim freely. 
Furthermore, according to the Whale and Dolphin Conservation organization, captivity poses serious mental and physical health risks to dolphins, leading to shortened lifespans. We believe freedom and welfare of these dolphins should outweigh the profits made from their captivity. We request 
Barceló Maya Grand Resort to accept responsibility for their decisions and consider retiring their dolphins and creating opportunities for them to live in more natural and suitable conditions or sanctuaries. Your support is crucial to raise awareness and end the needless suffering of these intelligent beings.
