Hey fellow axolotl lovers and underwater creature enthusiasts!

I'm starting this petition with a heart full of hope and a love for one of the quirkiest creatures out there.. Axolotls! These cute little salamanders from Mexico are unfortunately endangered, mostly because of habitat loss and pollution. They're mystical, adorable, and they definitely deserve some extra love and attention. With this petition we could continue putting in the good word for our babies.

Apple has a huge, super inclusive emoji collection but, guess what? No axolotl emoji yet! That's a big missed chance to help raise awareness for these little guys. According to the International Union for Conservation of Nature (IUCN), axolotls have been on the endangered list due to the drop in their wild population in Mexico and the heavy pollution in lake Xochimilco (Their home).

Adding an axolotl emoji could help get more people talking about their situation, making it easier for all of us to spread the word and show our support. It would also let other people know our love for the lizards, and spreading the good word for those who do not know about the axolotl. We’re asking Apple to take a step toward helping the environment and endangered animals by creating an axolotl emoji in their next update.
