As a proud Washington resident, I'm alarmed to learn that taxpayer funds meant to help our fellow citizens might be supporting illegal immigrants.

• The latest state budget proposes $25,000,000 in benefits for immigrants who do not qualify for federal aid, meaning they may be here illegally.
• The Washington legislature just passed a bill that could provide cash assistance to illegal immigrants under a housing program meant for low-income residents.

Are our taxpayer funds in Washington being spent on illegal immigrants who have broken federal immigration laws? If so, this is more than a loss of state resources. It's an aiding and abetting of illegal activities at the taxpayers' expense. Enough is enough.

For the sake of transparency, accountability, and proper stewardship of taxpayers' money, we implore Attorney General Pam Bondi to launch an investigation into whether Washington State is providing funding to illegal immigrants ... and if so, to take urgent action to stop it.
