Good Morning Fellow residents, Driver and Petition Supporters

I was at Parliament House on Tuesday the 30th March (not the 31st) to drop off the Letter and printed Petition signatures and comments to Andrew Constance the Minister for Transport and Roads.

Below is the Letter that I wrote to him - I will advise when I receive a reply.

Mr Andrew Constance MP

Minister for Transport and Roads

NSW Parliament House

Macquarie Street

Sydney NSW 2000

Good Morning Mr Constance

RE : Fifteenth Ave, Liverpool Road Widening and Hoxton Park Road

I am writing to you to advise that residents in Liverpool, particularly those living in the Austral, West Hoxton, Middleton Grange and Hoxton Park area are calling for the widening of Fifteenth Ave to cope with the current and growing traffic problems.

You would be aware of the Hoxton Park Road Extension as I have written to your office and Transport for NSW about this in the past.

Council’s Local Strategic Planning Statement (LSPS) identifies the FAST corridor as a project of strategic significance to Council, and other strategic planning documents including the Liverpool City Centre Public Domain Plan identify the corridor.

More recently in an article by the ABC it was stated that…..

“Liverpool Council and Transport for NSW is spending $4.8 million exploring ways to connect the road to the Aerotropolis — the business and industrial developments around the Western Sydney Airport.

Residents are getting frustrated like Khalid Rifai who posted this in a local Facebook community group

“Liverpool City Council Australia would you not think this 9km line of traffic that starts at Austral and finishes in the CBD of Liverpool has a solution? (By solution I don’t mean tollway) this is the state of your roads from 7:30am to 9:30am and 2:30pm to 7:00pm Monday to Friday, this isn’t the year 1990 we have grown in capacity.

Emergency services cannot even get though when there is a emergency.

This is a daily commute for some of us!

Mayor of Liverpool Wendy Waller we need a solution today.

Council is approving schools and expanding existing infrastructure but not improving roads and expanding transport, you have plans for the future but we are living today!

A second lane down Fifteenth Ave is a quick fix solution.

Roads are all cracked and look like Swiss cheese, roadworks everywhere with no signs or regards to local traffic we line up for 25 minutes to get past that little site on fifteenth Ave last week (never mind having a 6 year old waiting for his parents outside his school)

I don’t know what planning was done for 2021 but looks like we forgot the year was coming or existed.

I look forward to hearing from you and having such matters resolved.

READ THE COMMENTS FROM LOCAL RESIDENTS that have been provided on two online Petitions that I have started on Change.Org and have printed out.

The two Petitions can be found using the links below

I have also included a Letter received from Liverpool City Council advising that even after $2 million dollars has already been spent more investigations are being carried out.

Mr Constance this matter has been dragging out for years now.

Why is the NSW State Government denying access on residents of Liverpool access to the new Western Sydney Airport?

Firstly you won’t extend the South west rail link from Leppington Station to the Western Sydney Airport.

Now your Government is taking its own sweet time to approve funding to widen the road from Hoxton Park to the Western Sydney Airport.

IS Liverpool going to be the third city in the three city deal or is Bradfield going to be the third Sydney CBD as alluded to by the Premier recently?

The point is that millions of dollars have been spent looking into the upgrade of Hoxton Park Road and Fifteenth Ave when will a decision be made to either fund this project (or not).

With the Western Sydney Airport under construction there needs to be road and rail access to the airport particularly from Liverpool CBD.

It would be appreciated if you could instruct your department to fast track the funding for the Widening of Hoxton Park Road and Fifteenth Ave, and extending the South West rail link from Leppington Station to the Western Sydney Airport.

I have also included a list of the names of the Petition Supporters for the latest Petition to widen Fifteenth Ave.

I look forward to your reply.

Yours Sincerely
