Upgrade Adcock Park Facilities and Parking Now!
The issue
For years, Adcock Park, located in Gosford NSW, has been a hub for local sports enthusiasts, welcoming over 6000 visitors every weekend who participate in activities such as Netball, AFL, cricket, touch football, and Oztag. It has been a vital part of our community, not just as a sports facility, but as a gathering place for families and friends.
Yet, despite its significance, Adcock Park has been increasingly neglected by local, state, and federal governments. Both Labor and Liberal parties have repeatedly promised upgrades, but the current facilities and parking are in a dire state of disrepair. Safety and accessibility are severely compromised and the parking is almost always chaotic and a risk to the public. The courts desperately need to be upgraded to continue to provide a safe space for children, young people and adults to play netball, one of the leading sports on the coast.
Consider the potential risks posed by these deteriorating facilities. Insufficient lighting, outdated infrastructure, and cramped parking spaces contribute to the hazards faced by players and visitors, including children, on a weekly basis. We cannot continue to put our community at risk.
A well-maintained park could enhance community spirit, attract visitors, and even boost local commerce. Improved facilities would mean safer places for our children to play, better spectating experiences for families, and smoother operations on busy weekends.
We urgently need a commitment from our government representatives to take tangible actions and provide the necessary funds to bring Adcock Park up to the standard it deserves. Investing in Adcock Park is investing in our community’s health, happiness, and future.
You can make a difference by joining us in calling for necessary changes. Sign this petition and let our elected officials know that we demand and deserve better facilities at Adcock Park.
