Update Technical Infrastructure in Inner Neighborhoods and Business Zones

Update Technical Infrastructure in Inner Neighborhoods and Business Zones
The Issue
I am a victim of identity theft and stalking, a terrifying experience that has left me feeling violated and unsafe. This is not just my story; it's the story of countless others who have been victims of these crimes due to inadequate technical infrastructure and surveillance protocols. In our inner neighborhoods and business zones, outdated systems are leaving us vulnerable to cybercrimes.
According to the Bureau of Justice Statistics, an estimated 17.6 million people were victims of identity theft in the United States in 2014 (Bureau of Justice Statistics). The lack of updated technical infrastructure is not only affecting individuals but also businesses. The FBI’s Internet Crime Complaint Center reported that businesses lost over $1.2 billion in 2018 due to business email compromise scams (FBI’s Internet Crime Complaint Center).
We need our local government to prioritize updating the technical infrastructure within our neighborhoods and business zones, as well as revising policy and policing protocol for surveillance. This will help protect us from stalkers, hackers, and other forms of cybercrime.
Let's stand together against this growing threat by demanding better protection for ourselves and our communities! Please sign this petition today!
