Update NCERT Books for Class 10th and 12th Thoroughly

Update NCERT Books for Class 10th and 12th Thoroughly
The Issue
As a student preparing for the crucial board exams, I've faced the immense challenge of finding that our NCERT textbooks do not adequately cover the depth and breadth of knowledge required by the CBSE board syllabi. This has led to a situation where I and many other students need to resort to multiple external study aids, such as Lakhmir Singh and Manjit Kaur or R.D. Sharma, to gain a comprehensive understanding of subjects, especially in critical areas like the "Control and Coordination" chapter, where hormones are barely touched upon in the textbook but are vital for examination.
This gap is not just frustrating and confusing but also deeply unfair to students who may not have access to these additional resources. The CBSE has been incrementally focusing on concept-based learning, with questions in exams becoming more intricate and demanding a thorough understanding of topics that are scarcely covered in the current textbooks. For students who rely solely on NCERT books, this poses a significant disadvantage, undermining their ability to perform well.
The problem becomes more acute when exams focus heavily on conceptual questions, which are often twisted and based on information that is hardly covered in our textbooks. Recent examinations have demonstrated this shift, with less reliance on direct book content and more on a student's grasp of concepts – concepts that are not thoroughly elaborated in NCERT materials.
What about students who do not have easy access to various study materials beyond NCERT books? This situation creates an unequal playing field, where those who have the means can excel, while others struggle simply to keep up. The integrity of CBSE exams and the fairness of the entire process depend on all students having equal access to the educational content that will be tested.
I urge the CBSE and relevant educational authorities to take immediate actions to thoroughly update the NCERT textbooks for classes 10th and 12th. The update should include comprehensive content that aligns with the current examination patterns and syllabi, especially in areas that are frequently scrutinized in exams. Such changes will not only level the educational field but also alleviate the undue stress on students who are aiming to achieve their best with limited resources.
Please join me in signing this petition to push for the necessary updates to NCERT textbooks, ensuring they reflect the demands of CBSE’s current educational standards and fully prepare students for their academic journeys ahead.
