Unjust Removal of a Pastime and Sport precious to Thousands over the World

Unjust Removal of a Pastime and Sport precious to Thousands over the World
The Issue

Closing a Speedway Stadium to build houses is the most unjust and selfish act, especially when signed over land was donated historically with a clause never to be developed.
Peterborough Panthers Speedway team currently have their home base at Alwalton Stadium also known as Peterborough showground which is now being sold off for housing and specifically "leisure facilities" but isn't Speedway a leisure facility for all those fans, and opposing team fans that show up every meeting. The club has been racing there for over 50 years and to rip this enjoyment away from old and young fans alike, some that have been walking, yes walking to meetings for years, even when now in their late sixties! Couples bought together by Speedway and youngsters who have only ever known Speedway. Is it not time this country was respectful to those that uphold their right to follow and watch sport that others just want to discard and tread into the ground?
Thanks to MB it is advised we would encourage you and everyone to have a look at the Peterborough Local Plan - a legal document available for download on the councils website. Specifically read the section on the Showground and also the Local Policy LP30. If the council and developers fail to adhere to LP30 in their planning application this will be the time for everyone to kick up an almighty fuss and campaign.

Support this cause please! It will be your favourite Pastime next!!
It would appear that your local MP is against regular visitors to the area spending money with local businesses and using the services and amenities therein, maybe it is time that the constituents of Paul Bristow MP ask what he is doing to save the facilities that are depended on by all members of the community, no matter how diverse and minority their passion!
Contact him, your representative in Parliament who should have your voice!
