We the undersigned are students at the University of York who are in full support of our striking lecturers. We urge university management to enter talks with York UCU to discuss the issues outlined in their official statement: the plummeting of real pay, the rise of casualisation, a culture of overwork and the gender wage gap (statement linked below). We give our names as a show of solidarity to members of staff affected by these issues.
