Shut Down the Inhumane Animal Testing Lab at the University of Oklahoma

The Issue

Currently the University of Oklahoma is undergoing a lot of bad press and for good reason. Bloomberg Business has reported that three-month-old baboons are being sprayed with water and left "shivering and clearly distressed" running the risk of contracting hypothermia which can lead to death. Not only this, but their cages were covered in grime, urine, and feces. The USDA citations were blamed primarily on untrained staff who were unaware of the conditions of proper animal care, however, this should not be an excuse for mistreating animals of any kind.

In 2013, OU was found to be euthanizing dogs with a 9 volt battery attached to their hearts. They were also cited for conducting surgeries on dogs with little or no pain killers involved during the operation. The University of Oklahoma has been cited by the USDA 16 times in the last 2 years and no one has done anything about it. Obviously the university cannot be trusted to follow federal standards for animal welfare. Please put yourself in the animal's shoes and sign this petition.
