Hello everyone! Thank you so much for signing this petition and showing your support for Regents Scholars at UNL.

After receiving a Twitter response from the official UNL Twitter that stated all Regents Scholars will be receiving the original scholarship amount, I called the Husker Hub to verify this. We had called the Husker Hub yesterday and they had told us the opposite: they said that this new policy did apply to current students and would reduce our covered credit hours to 120. During today's phone call (I have uploaded the entire call here, I think it's worth listening to. I cut out the holds and some of my private information) the Husker Hub told me that students would be able to apply to receive the full 135 credit hours by filling out an appeals form. All of the information I have received, including the appeals form, can be found in this Google Drive. Hopefully this is true, and students who need those 15 credits are able to get their appeals approved.

HOWEVER I encourage you to keep signing and spreading this petition. The form is quite long, and seems to be more intended for students who have lost their scholarship and need to appeal. I worry this form is a way for the university to deny the vast majority of appeals while pretending to hear us. I personally believe all current Regents students should continue to receive 135 credit hours without an appeals process. 

I am not going to mark this petition as successful yet, I think it's important to continue to show the University that we are opposed to the reduction of credit hours for current Regents students. I also will leave this petition going in case things change or I receive differing info from a UNL office. Thank you again for your support, and I will keep you updated on any further developments!
