Updated Mask Policy

The University of Memphis has updated their mask policy to require masks in certain areas instead of a simple suggestion. While this is a wonderful step in the right direction it does not change the fact that students can contract COVID-19. Students are still expected to quarantine and miss class if exposed to the virus. Yet there is no policy in place mandating they be excused. Even if most professors choose to excuse COVID related absences, what prevents students from falling behind without recorded lectures? We still need all courses to become hybrid. Please share this petition with your contacts so we can make our campus a safer and more accessible place!
