Hello all,
First off, I want to say thank you for your support for this petition. In less than 24 hours, we have generated nearly 100 signatures, which is absolutely incredible! Though the petition is merely a small part in fighting for financial equity on campus, we are certainly making our voices heard.
As mentioned with the petition, I feel that the removal of the fee will contribute to the University of Louisville’s remarkable reputation in change-making as a diverse and inclusive institution. In other words, the work we are doing is an effort to open the University Honors Program up to myriad perspectives, which will ultimately cultivate and strengthen the academic growth of our school.
I firmly believe that the most vital part of any University/College is the students. Because of this, our participation in this sort of student advocacy allows us to take our education in our own hands.
Although we are continuing to garner student and faculty support for removing the mandatory fee for Honors Students, the job is not done. If at all possible, it would mean so much to me if you could continue to share this petition with your colleagues, faculty, and friends.
