Students, staff, and supporters have been fighting for years to save Maguire Village and UVS, but the university continues to move forward with a flawed plan to condemn and demolish these vital graduate housing communities. We’ve uncovered glaring inaccuracies, hidden files, and manipulated data that have been used to justify the dismantling of these buildings. This issue is not just about 44 brick buildings—it’s about protecting shared governance, basic human rights, and honoring the legacy of Professor Little, who fought for these principles throughout his life.

Rally for Respect – Save Maguire Village and UVS!
Join us at a shared rally on Wednesday, March 26, 2025, from 5:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m.
Location: Northeast corner of SW 34th St. and Hull Road (next to the big UF brick sign).
We will be waving signs to help save Maguire Village and UVS. Let your voice be heard!

Additionally, we are seeking individuals who are willing to speak at the UF Board of Trustees meeting on Friday, March 28, 2025, at 11:00 a.m. at Emerson Alumni Hall. Speakers must email the Board of Trustees 48 hours in advance, and financial assistance is available for those who need it. If you are interested in speaking, please contact us right away!

We’ve documented the significance of these communities and the harms caused by their potential demolition. It’s not just about the money—it’s about preserving the best graduate housing in the country and maintaining a space for students and families to thrive at UF.
