Dear Supporters of UVS and Maguire Village,

Happy Valentine's Day!  In the spirit of the holiday, we invite you to show your love of Maguire Village and UVS by helping spread awareness of our fight to save these wonderful places.  Here are some ways you can help:

1) Share the Change.org petition with your friends and organizations (1100+ signature so far!)

2) Plan to attend a rare meeting of the Campus Student Housing Committee this Friday at noon in the Housing Office Building Conference Room (Bldg 753 along SW 13th St.) and voice your concerns

3) Whether you can or cannot attend the committee meeting, you can send in comments to the Chair, Dr. Tyger, at jtyger@ufsa.ufl.edu (by Wednesday if possible), asking the committee to save these villages

4) Donate to help us repaint the "Save Maguire/UVS" mural this Spring (as we did last year)

5) Contact any other local official (especially state representatives) to express your dismay in UF Housing's terrible decision to demolish 348 affordable and historic apartments on UF's campus, and that you wish them to reverse (or at least pause) these plans

With your help and public pressure, we can save Maguire Village and UVS before the last of its residents are evicted in just a few months and this beautiful area is destroyed forever.  If you'd like to become more involved, we are always looking for volunteers -- email SaveUFGradHousing@gmail.com if interested.
