Dear Concerned UCT Alumni
We URGENTLY need your UCT vote to keep the newly elected Council balanced and fair.
UCT is running the 2020-2024 Convocation Elections and BDS have put together a slate of candidates to run with the aim of overturning the work that has been achieved. This is a hostile takeover of UCT and we need your help to stop it.
If you hold a UCT degree or diploma, or are a lecturer or researcher at the University, you are a member of the UCT Convocation and can vote.
Last year supporters of academic freedom won an important victory over BDS, and prevented a boycott of Israel at the University. Now we need your help to lock that victory into place.
There are some excellent applicants running this year that have not been involved in BDS activity and that are committed to taking UCT forward and making it a better institution for all. We encourage you to support the 4 candidates below, by exercising your right to vote in the 2020 Council elections.
When you are done, please pass this message on to other UCT alumni who can vote on this issue.
