Dear Ambassador (insert name),

First, I want to thank you for the work that you are doing as part of the Hague Group. Second, I am requesting that you use your position to call for an Emergency Special Session (ESS) of the UN General Assembly to initiate the Uniting for Peace Resolution authorizing the immediate deployment of a UN-mandated, multinational armed protective force into Gaza.

We are offering our support not only in words, but in concrete actions as well. We have marched and chanted for 22 months, and all of the hundreds of thousands of people in thousands of cities around the world who have desperately wanted the genocide to stop, have watched as our calls have been ignored, and the conditions in Gaza have only gotten worse. I imagine that you are feeling that same frustration in the diplomatic channels that you have worked in trying to achieve the same goals. Perhaps it is time that we both, diplomats and demonstrators, admit that what we have done so far simply has not worked, and change our strategy.

Specifically, we ask you to call for the ESS without delay, and then to write a powerful Resolution containing the points listed below. This done, we pledge to bring the hundreds of thousands of people who have been in the streets, encampments, convoys, armadas, and picket lines out in front of our national government offices to demand that our country officially support this Resolution, not just in words, but in concrete commitment of troops, armaments, and all that is necessary for a successful conclusion of this Resolution

Your voice and commitment are respected by millions around the world. I implore you to do what we all know must be done, and I promise that I will do everything in my power to support the Resolution.

The General Assembly Uniting for Peace Resolution will include the following measures:

General Assembly Uniting for Peace Resolution authorizing the deployment of a UN-mandated, multinational armed protective force to Gaza

· UN troops should be armed for self-defense, equipped with monitoring technologies, and mandated to:

Safeguard Palestinian civilians
Support the UN’s unrestricted entry and distribution of humanitarian aid
Preserve evidence of potential war crimes and violations of human rights
Facilitate reconstruction

The Resolution will call on all member states to:

Mandate a ceasefire
Cease all trade, investment, economic, diplomatic, and cultural relations with the Israeli government
Strip Israel of its UN credentials
Call on all member nations to implement a total embargo on arms
Recognize that those organizations fighting against the illegal Israeli occupation are legal entities under international law and represent the people of Gaza, and in no way will be targeted militarily or politically as “enemy combatants.”
