Don’t abandon workers

The Issue

Carrier Air Conditioner, a subsidiary of United Technologies, announced earlier this month that it is laying off 1,400 workers in Indiana and outsourcing their jobs to Mexico. United Technologies Electronic Controls also announced that it will move 700 jobs from another Indiana operation to Mexico. This, despite $6.1 billion in profits last year.

American corporations have lost their sense of social responsibility and have no loyalty but to profit and shareholders. Carrier has been a trusted employer in Indianapolis since the early 1950s, and there aren’t enough other manufacturing jobs in the area to fall back on. Please, stand up and support the workers of Indiana by signing this petition.

Let United Technologies know that we are outraged at its decision, and we do not approve. Tell it not to relocate and take 2,100 jobs to Mexico.
