On this day of expressing our resistance with the Women's March Nationwide. I'm proud to say I have a strong passion for the Earth. I was raised in a family that taught me the value of caring for and preserving the environment and humanity with dignity & respect. Over the last 15 years, I have been confused and frustrated about why Superfund and Brownfield sites are a major problem in the USA. This is a dive issues that needs attention. There is overwhelming scientific consensus in San Luis Obispo County that sitting idly by and watch the repercussions of lost lives and property was not and option for me and others. My goals was to do online campaigns, giving back to the community and creating partnerships with anyone with an open mind that cared enough to talk about this conversation. It ultimately paid off in the end from around the world, as you can see from these petition signatures. After I moved to San Luis Obispo County, I was able to jump on board and inform a lot of people about their legal and human rights in regards to Superfund and Brownfield sites. I also discovered other issues that were hidden dilemmas to most folks in San Luis Obispo County. I was rather appalled about these disparities between rich, middle class and poor. And the conditions in some cities, that have a huge cost on inequality and environmental impact. Some of it was mind blowing facts and data. It appeared to be the Wild West that I moved to. There is plenty of roughness and lawlessness in these parts of the Central Coast. I figured we can only go UP from here, Right. Mean while I forged my way about exposing and pointing out differences in many environmental issues across the spectrum about these contaminated hazardous waste locations and the risk they pose to human health and the environment. And what it was doing to this beautiful community. I went out to connect across this county and across state lines it may seem like a simple idea, but its not easily to executed 7k plus supporters. I have spent hours to campaigns the structure of this process, going through the legal and human rights issues, reaching out to professionals and specialists in many fields, writing and spreading the word, attending meetings & rallies and much more. I'm happy to report that they are many like-minded people then you realize that are willing to help you out and ride through the wave with you. And I'm grateful for each and everyone of them. I feel blessed!!! During this discovery process on oil spills, cracks and leaks, proposal underground pipelines, cancer and other illnesses, contaminated water wells and city water, hidden agendas, politics, taxes and royalties and much more. I thought to myself I have to connect with other groups that have petitioned and lobbied for various environmental legislation. And so I did, and we have made big plans to address statewide campaigns and promote news laws about Superfund and Brownfield laws in the near future. Our first goal is to send a clear message to our local legislators. We need our elected leaders and private sector companies to STEP UP and protect both PEOPLE and the PLANET from FURTHER HARM. The facts must be heard over the lies that are spread by those whose priority is their own wealth rather than the well-being of our planet. This is something that environmental activists understand and we are NOT content to sit idly by and watch people lives and property be taken away from them. We must take action to stop them in their tracks and YES we have indeed done that. And we CAN solve it. We are at a time right now where solar panel efficiency is increasing and prices are dropping, and we’re seeing this trend in a variety of renewable energy sources. We have the solutions at hand. Now it’s just a matter of convincing our leaders to strive for scientific literacy. And so, my friends and I are going to use the moral authority that we have on this issue, and demand that change be made. We’ll be out on the streets petitioning, we’ll be in the halls of the state capital lobbying, we’ll be in classrooms, job sites, union halls and parks giving presentations. We are going to work like hell against advertise Billionaires until our voices are heard. Believe me they are being heard with new cutting edge grassroots movements everyday.
