Everyday, thousand of people cross the U.S. Mexico border illegally. Some being smuggled by "coyotes" in extreme conditions. Others bringing drugs and other illegal substances. Cartel members, among those who seek a better life. Some are honest people looking to go to the United States but others bring harm by crossing the border. The overriding of President Trump's veto could have meant our border would be open to these dangers. We can't stand for the harm brought against citizens of the U.S. if we don't do something about the border.

I propose that congress provides additional funding for some sort of border security. If that is more immigration officers, a wall, anything in general will help fight this. Another possible route is to pressure Mexico into assisting the United States stop immigration from more southern countries such as Guatemala. With these solutions, drugs will be less available in the United States, and Cartel members will stay in Mexico.
