Investigation BLM Wild Horse & Burro Program/Moratorium

Investigation BLM Wild Horse & Burro Program/Moratorium
The Issue
Given all of the information included in the link below, BLM Letter to 117th Congress, we have many concerns regarding BLM’s management of wild horses and burros. We respectfully call for (a) a moratorium on these scientifically-indefensible roundups until the above issues are addressed, and (b) oversight hearings into the BLM’s Wild Horse and Burro Program. Taxpayers are especially concerned with the inhumane treatment of these federally protected herds, the use of fraudulent data to perpetuate the “roundup and warehouse” paradigm and the misuse of taxpayer funds. We feel our National Icons deserve the protection bestowed upon them in 1971 at the inception of the Wild Free Roaming Horses & Burros Act and are calling on you to keep the promise we made.
If not acted upon very soon, Wild Horses and Burros will be gone from their federally designated herd management areas and extinct forever from the American landscape!
Investigation of BLM’s management of wild horses and burros needed. Some of the issues are:
BLM is under regulatory capture and caters to the livestock industry.
BLM is derelict in range assessments and yet blames wild horses and burros for any damage even though they share nearly every HMA with livestock and livestock grazing is the primary cause of damaged riparian areas and range destruction.
BLM has no scientific proof of overpopulation of WHB. Some of BLM’s wild horse population estimates are biologically impossible. They have stated that some herds have increased by as much as 775% in one year. 148 of 174 HMAs are below genetic viability. This will lead to extinction! Wild horses and burros have lost 41% of their legally-designated lands since 1971 and share nearly every HMA with livestock. There original acreage was 11% of BLM managed lands, reduced in half to less than 6% and that is further reduced with every roundup where they are zeroing out HMA's or portions thereof.
If overpopulation is ever proven, see here for a possible solution:

The BLM - WHB Advisory Board is stacked with ranchers or people unsympathetic to the plight of the wild horses and burros. It is a conflict of interest, and therefore a breach of the board charter to have people profiting directly from public lands making decisions about proper management of wild horses and burros. This board must include bonafied wild horse advocates and wildlife ecologists.
For more issues and further dissertation on the above, please see link below WHB Letter to Members of 117th Congress. Our wild horses and burros are in grave danger with BLM’s current “management” plan under the "Path Forward" to Extinction implemented under William Pendley's illegal tenure with the goal of wiping out every living wild horse and burro on the American Landscape fast track. They are almost gone!!
