I have had emails as well as friends private messaged about my recent absence from FB... and the sentiments are so very appreciated. I do believe for standing up for what I believe in, and when I authored a petition, addressing UPS to stop importing 'dead animal parts' from Trophy Hunters' abusive practices, I meant exactly what I said when I told UPS that I would boycott their company until they changed to a compassionate business model. My computer gave up the ghost, after 15 years of trusted service, causing our family to make a replacement. Apple, in their confusion... thought that even after they had been told I would not accept a delivery of this computer should it come via UPS, shipped it UPS anyway... at least the modem came UPS. I contacted Apple, had them contact FedEx to make the pick up and 'REDELIVERY' of the modem, which is less profits for them, and more legitimacy for what I had told them my consumer dollars were capable of making happen. I bet my husband "A nickel to a Donut" that the main computer would come FedEx now... and after checking the shipping, it did indeed ship FEDEX ground transport on 1/13........ (so... no matter what a company may say, you do have a choice on which carrier delivers your purchases). Now, this comes to the matter of my slight absence from my fb page... as a result of the ground shipping, the computer is coming more slowly to my home, I have been utilizing the computer at the library for most days, but with the library closed on Sunday, and with Martin Luther King Holiday on Monday, the library was closed also. People have asked "Isn't this a huge inconvenience for you?" and my answer is simple...... What price does one put on their integrity? I don't believe that UPS should import dead animals into our country... but I will accept shipments from them for my own convenience? I don't think it was the least bit convenient for the Lions, Elephants, Rhinos, Tigers, Giraffes etc... to be shot, gutted, skinned and decapitated for some sick Asshat's jollys... and then to be brought to our country... MY COUNTRY with UPS as a collaborator in the abuse. NO... for me to be absent from FB for a few days, to be a 'SILENT VOICE' for the voiceless... is the very LEAST I can do to show UPS that I'm not joking, and I'm not willing to compromise when animals lives are being held in the balance... AND I WILL KEEP MY BOYCOTT OF UPS IN PLACE, REGARDLESS THE COST OR INCONVENIENCE.
