Stop the Deforestation of the Amazon

The Amazon provides life for every creature on earth.
One in every five breaths you take came from the Amazon Basin, one of the world's greatest natural resources. Even though there is everything to gain from the study of the Amazon from medicines to new species, every day we chop down an area roughly the size of Rhode Island from this forest. Much of this land is used to farm cattle, which contribute to global warming by releasing methane into the atmosphere.
We don't have long At this rate, the Amazon will be gone entirely in 2038, the same year that there will be an estimated 9 billion people in the world. Think of that, having 9 billion people and ⅕ less oxygen to breath. I am not even counting the amount of carbon dioxide the the Amazon takes in per year, a full 2.2 billion tons! Not only does the Amazon provide life for us, it also takes in 5% of our carbon emissions. We cannot let this resource go to waste if we want the human race to survive.
