Nigerianistas, and their Nigeria is the ‘giant’ of Africa delusions!

'Giant’ means power and success. How does Nigeria measure up?
1. Most populous - So what? ‘Gigantism’ of China is not from its large population but from its entrepreneurship. South Korea - rags to riches story - made possible by visionaries like our own Awolowo. Nigeria is wealthiest in Africa by GDB but still poverty capital of the world - 86 million in extreme poverty; 41.7% of population living below international poverty line; more than 10 million children out of school.
2. Major oil producer - Really? Angola is a rival. Oil is being discovered all over Africa; all over the world. Nigeria’s oil export exceeded by its import of oil products. From 2030, Europe and America will produce only electric cars.
3. Influential - In what? Nigeria’s political influence in the world is historical. Bush was last US president to visit Nigeria; Obasanjo was last president visited. Obama went to Ghana instead. No red carpets for Buhari in western capitals. Peace keeping role? - Nigeria cannot defeat Bokoharam and other terrorists at home. Nigeria is graveyard of industries - no electricity, no infrastructure, no plans etc. Nigeria 2nd worst in the world for electricity supply. Social media companies etc locating in Ghana instead of Nigeria!
4. Repercussions of breaking up - Bad for who? Breakup of countries is nothing new; life will continue afterwards! Breakup would end Nigeria’s 22 years ongoing of unbridled lawlessness - rated 4th highest for crime in Africa; 22nd most corrupt in Africa; second deadliest terrorists in the world. Already refugee crisis; large youth emigration to other countries. Breakup means a new beginning for the emerging indigenous ethnic nations.
Time to stop the pretence. Nigeria isn’t working. There is no jam tomorrow - support, sign, persuade others, spread, share, retweet http://chng.it/QJp8yJ6hPs
