On behalf of UOW's UN COY16 project team, we would like to say a huge thank you for supporting our cause!
Climate Change is an issue that UOW has committed to taking very seriously and we want to ensure that future students can enjoy Wollongong's beaches, escarpment and wildlife.
But the movement doesn't end here. We still need another 1200 signatures to be recognised by the United Nations as a Climate Hero. The climate change statement proposed bold commitments of a carbon neutrality pathway, sustainable transport, energy management, transport solutions, research, and education.
This is the first time UOW has committed to such a progressive climate change stance. We are urging you to share with your friends and family, to keep the momentum going!
If you would like to learn more about the project we will also be holding 2 informative webinars on Friday the 27th of August, with guest speakers (academics and community members), and the project chair and executive officer to speak about the statement.
The first webinar will be at 10 am: https://uow-au.zoom.us/j/87030635615?pwd=VGc2cHRwQkNWYkdTMFpwSll0K2ptQT09
the second webinar will be at 3 pm: https://uow-au.zoom.us/j/83194812720?pwd=R1JJci9iV2ZoaTBBbGExcXhSc0VWUT09
We hope to see you there! Thanks again for the support.
Sincerely,
UOW's UN COY16 project team
