Justice for Asylum Seekers in Malaysia (Release my family)

I am writing this petition to draw your attention to the unfair and unjust behavior of the Malaysian Immigration that requires attention. I would like to appeal and look forward to your support for my family who are registered asylum seekers in Malaysia.

On October 6th, 2019, Sunday morning, my mother, and two younger sisters went to a medical training institute in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. They had gone for an interview to get themselves registered for a particular medical training they offered on a social media site.

Unlike any European country, the Malaysian government does not provide any financial help to the asylum seekers. So to meet their expenses, the refugees have to earn their livelihood. My sisters and mother were hopeful of getting employed at the institute and apply for a work permit unaware of the fact that they would be arrested by the Malaysian immigration police.

From the day they have been arrested till now, we haven't heard from them. It is about to be 3 weeks and there is no progress in their release. My elder sister and her husband, who are also refugees in Malaysia, visited the office i.e. Depot Imigresen Bukit Jalil, 43300 Kuala Lumpur, more than five times but returned miserably and dishearted every time. They were not allowed to meet my mother and sisters and none of the officers cooperated. But we did not give up that easily, as a family is not something to let go of. Hence, we called the UNHCR in Malaysia and lodged a telephonic complaint. Moreover, we also sent a few emails to UNHCR Malaysia, yet again no one is ready to help us in any way.

I am not sure what my sisters and mother are going through all I’m afraid of is that they might shatter physically, emotionally, and mentally if they still are at arrest without being guilty. They did not breach any law, they are not criminals. They are just asylum seekers who are deprived of their human rights by not receiving justice which is their legal right may it be any country.

I want the support from each one you who might have gone through such a phase in which their family was at stake and they wanted help. This petition is my last hope. I want you to raise your voice with me in protest. I want you to raise your hands in pray for me so that God gives me the strength to fight for my family and not to lose them.
