Today, one of the social issues that many countries are facing right now is gender inequality. Gender inequality is the unequal and biased treatment between the two  sexes. This problem has a negative impact on their economy. Sadly, men and women nowadays are being treated unequally.

In fact, one of our member's sister experienced this situation. When she was applying for a job in a hospital, she was not qualified despite of being registered physical therapist and did good performance in school and such. She wasn't accepted because she's a woman. They said that they needed a male not female. But the question is, what's the difference of being a woman and man if they just studied the same course? This issue matters to us that's why we decided to make a petition. 

The goal of this petition is to sensitize the biggest amount of people possible. We want to eradicate this gender inequality. We chose to create a petition for people to be informed of this issue and when more people are aware of a problem, the chances of a change can increase. 

If we win this petition, the people in our world will realize that respecting and treating others equally is not a bad thing. Therefore, our world will be peaceful and united. In short, it'll be better and happy place. But if we lose, many people will still discriminate other gender and will not realize that this equality is for everyone.

For women, by signing this petition, you state that you will respect yourself, both your body and your intellectual capacities and respect men's opinions and abilities.

For men, by signing this petition, you promise to respect women, both their body and their intellectual capacities. You accept to judge them by their achievements and not by their gender. You engage yourself to defend women when you are aware that an unequal situation is happening.

All in all, for us to be able to make a change, both party should respect each other's views and opinions. We should all know and be aware that all men and women are exactly the same, have the same material possessions, have the same ability to reach an informed decision, and have the ability to perform any task that any other person can do. 

Therefore, we, the students of St.Scholastica's Academy, petition to promote the need for gender equality and equity at the same time in and through the media – on and offline. With this, people will start to remember that we are all entitled to live and be treated equally.
