Zenab shares the chilling story of undergoing FGM/C as a young girl. At her mother’s request, she was taken by an aunt to the home of strangers, where she was held down and cut. Zenab was too shocked to say anything, but she refused for some time to speak to her mother. Years later, after realizing that the painful sex she experienced was related to the practice, she successfully protects her granddaughter from what she went through.
