Hi everyone,

Here’s the next story from the Voices to End FGM/C project, ‘Anger’ by Shabana Feroze. 

At the age of 31, after her brother makes comments against female khatna (FGM/C), Shabana’s memory of having been cut floods to the surface for the first time. In her story, she describes the waves of anger and confusion which overwhelmed her, and her difficulty in coming to terms with the fact that a piece of her had been taken, without her permission. Her frustration is magnified by a feeling of having no one specific to blame.
