Petition updateDemand the United Nations Investigate the Murder of Jamal KhashoggiSaudis Trying to Claim Khashoggi's Murder was 'Rogue Op'

...and we're not falling for it! Washington Post's article this morning references unbelievable assertions "the kingdom’s crown prince and de facto ruler, Mohammed bin Salman, had any prior knowledge of an operation that resulted in the killing of Jamal Khashoggi and said that the agents involved “weren't people closely tied” to the crown prince."

We do not believe you! This petition and updates have linked articles and opinions with a blow by blow timeline regarding the murder and dismemberment of Jamal Khashoggi after disappearing in the Saudi Arabian consulate in Istanbul October 2.

“This was an operation that was a rogue operation,” Adel al-Jubeir told Fox News. “This was an operation where individuals ended up exceeding the authorities and responsibilities they had. They made a mistake when they killed Jamal Khashoggi.”

The WAPO piece notes "Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan said on Sunday he will soon be revealing details of his government’s investigation into the killing of Khashoggi, a move that could directly contradict Saudi Arabia’s official account of what happened inside its consulate in Istanbul."

We have a lot of questions and the Saudi claims are as outrageous and harebrained as one of the many Arabian-backed Hollywood blockbusters. But, this is not a movie. This is real life in which a mild-mannered and much beloved reporter was brutally mutilated.

We insist with this petition that the United Nations open an investigation into Jamal Khashoggi's horrible death. Amnesty International has demanded the Saudis immediately release the body of Jamal Khashoggi so real forensics scientists may "conduct an autopsy in line with international standards." Jamal's family deserves to at the very least, put his body to rest in accordance with his wishes. The Saudis are even denying this most human of requests. That action alone reflects the cruelty exhibited by the Saudi Nation and our own president who continues to sympathize and side with the prince and his kingdom.

Please commit to sharing this petition with five friends today. We collected over 1000 signatures with your help in three days. Please help this effort so that the United Nations will launch a legitimate investigation.
